Prevent Infestations By Small Critters With Use Of Ultrasonic Pest Control Devices

By Jayne Rutledge

Although there are many techniques used in controlling infestations by pests and rodents, some of them are unfriendly, ineffective, and unlawful such as poisoning of small wild animals like raccoons and squirrels. Using ultrasonic pest control technique is friendly to the small critters and keeps them away from your house. Small critters in your home can cause a lot of damage and disturbance, and it is important that you put in place sustainable and effective pest control measures.

These devices release high-frequency sound waves, which deter the creatures from inhabiting your premises. These devices are used to cause irritation, confuse, and intimate pests that are within the range of the frequencies. The sounds emitted by the devices do not cause harm on animals but instead they make them uncomfortable.

In addition, raccoons chew wires and expose your electrical cables. It is essential that when you detect or see such animals, you seek for ways to keep them away. When this creature wants to get somewhere, it will create a path by ripping a hole directly in a roof, ceiling, or wooden wall. Presence of squirrels in a house should not be entertained either.

Squirrels are equally as destructive as raccoons when they find their way inside a house. These animals are classified as pets because of their behavior of living in houses. Where there is a squirrel, the homeowner is likely to complaint of the creature living in the attic. Squirrels can be disturbing because they tend to gnaw on anything they find. Squirrels gnaw continuously as they try to sharpen their teeth and keep them short.

It is therefore safe to use. You can image the kind of danger you could be causing to your family especially the kids and pets when you use poison and other techniques such as traps. If you are operating on a shoestring budget, and you cannot afford hiring pest control companies to come and trap or exterminate the creatures, then you may want to consider using these devices.

When the squirrels enter the attics of your building, they will cause a lot of damage by chewing on anything including the ducts, pipes, wires, and ceiling. One disturbing thing about these creatures is the noise they cause when running above the ceilings and in the eaves. But, the chewing is more of a problem than the running.

Besides, the animals bring in nesting material, which can be a fire hazard when placed in the chimneys. If squirrels nest inside chimneys, they may increase the chances of chimneys fires because of the dry materials and debris they bring in when making their nests. With the presence of creosote, a substance, which is flammable and deposits on walls of chimneys, the debris brought by squirrels can easily trigger chimneys fires.

It is also important to know the wave strength or the distance, which the sound may travel. This will ensure that you sufficiently cover the area that is affected by the pests and rodents. You need to make sure that the ultrasonic pest control devices you use in your home are able to cover the entire area you intend to place them.
